It’s a wrap for Kitty Kitty Kitty
April 18th, 2007 by Steve Powers
This weekend was the final performance of the Mother of Invention production “Kitty Kitty Kitty” written by Noah Haidle and directed by Mercury McCall. It was an awesome show to be a part of, and man the show just kept getting better and better the more we did it. Our first week was a rough one as far as crowds go due to Easter and unexpected freezing weather, and I really want to thank those that braved the elements and skipped hunting Easter eggs to come see us instead. As usual I have keenly missed my cast and our camaraderie in the days after the final curtain, but I just know I will end up working with them again at some point. There is even a rumor that this show could be reprised as a fundraiser, but I’ll just wait and see what happens with that. I’m so glad I did this show, especially considering how offbeat the script was and how some of it made me cringe a little when I first read the script. But we ended with a show that was evoking riotous laughter when life but prompting some deep consideration and thinking on the drive home. I heard from several audience members that said the themes of the show had them thinking and debating one another long after the show was over. I have an online photo album from the show but it may only be interesting to the people in the production.
